President's Message
As the oldest and largest African-American Bar Association in California, Langston enjoys a long
and rich history of great leadership and dedication
to pursuing justice and advancing the social and economic well-being of our community. I am truly honored that I have been elected to lead this organi-zation as it continues its work to promote, speak for
and advance the cause of civil and human rights, equality and integrity in our profession.
Langstons theme this year is Continuing the
Pursuit of Justice. I have chosen this theme because
it will be a constant reminder that we must never rest
in our roles as advocates for and defenders of the disenfranchised, the underrepresented, the poor and
our youth. As lawyers, judges and community leaders,
we have the utmost responsibility to do all that we
can for them to ensure that justice prevails in the end. As President of Langston, I will not let us forget our mission and with your help, I am confident that we
will succeed.
Langstons 2010 Officers and Board of Directors is comprised of a great group of lawyers and judges that are energized, dedicated to our mission and
ready to lead. I thank them in advance for their help in making what I am sure will be a fantastic year for Langston. In addition, I thank the Langston family
that came before us for all of their hard work and for laying the foundation for us to build upon this year.
We are living in a great era of American history. And while these are exciting times, I recognize and appreciate that we have many challenges before us.
I ask that you pray for me, our Officers, our Board
and our members as we strive to make our organi-zation, community and profession better, wiser and stronger. Through your prayers and our hard work, I know we can and will accomplish anything in our "Continuing Pursuit of Justice."
