Byron J. McLain currently serves as the President-Elect of the John M. Langston Bar Association. He is an experienced federal prosecutor at the United States Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles. He has served as the Deputy Chief in the General Crimes Section from April 2017 to September 2018, where he supervised hundreds of investigations. He currently is assigned to the Major Frauds section, where he specifically has served as the Healthcare Fraud Coordinator for the office. Mr. McLain has been an Assistant United States Attorney for over six years and he has specialized in investigating and prosecuting cases involving health care fraud, movie investment fraud, tax fraud, mortgage fraud, and securities fraud among other areas. Mr. McLain graduated from Harvard College in 2000 and Harvard Law School in 2007. He worked at Skadden Arps from 2007 to 2012 before joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Mr. McLain lives in Inglewood, California with his wife and two children.
