Dear Langston Supporters, Sponsors, and Members:
We are at the midpoint of the 2019 year, and I am so proud of the achievements we have made thus far. In line with our 2019 theme of “Langston is Family – Looking Back, Looking Forward, Looking Out,” we have worked this year with these pillars at the forefront of the work we do.
During Black History Month, we “looked back” by having an event entitled “Our History is Black History” on February 20. The Langston Bar Association has “looked forward” by already raising almost $50,000 in scholarships for law school students, which will be distributed at the 2020 Langston Gala. Langston has “looked out” by creating its first online Membership Directory so we can serve as a resource for each other.
Langston has served you by creating a plethora of events over the first half of 2019. However, we have so much more to do. Our goal is to raise $100,000 in scholarships by the end of the year. So even though we are halfway to our goal, we need your support so please consider donating at https://www.langstonbar.org/donatetoday. We also want more Langston lawyers’ information in the Membership Directory so please opt in at https://www.langstonbar.org/directory-opt-in.
We look forward to the second half of 2019 being just as great as the first half. We hope that you will help Langston continue in our mission and purpose. Become a (lifetime) member. Get involved (and sponsor) an event. Mentor (and fund a scholarship for) a law school student. Continue to make the Langston Bar Association an active part of your everyday life because “Langston is Family.”
