Dear Langston Supporters, Sponsors, and Members:
Because of your enthusiasm, we had a record 625+ guests at the 42nd Annual Scholarship & Awards Gala. Because of your generosity, we were able to give away over $40,000 in scholarships to deserving law students. Because of your commitment, we were able to hit the ground running in 2018, organizing and co-sponsoring events with community partners and other bar associations. THANK YOU for your support!
To date, events included a Black History Month discussion with Zafar Brooks of Hyundai Motor Company co-sponsored with CMCP; a panel discussion on Rethinking a Challenged Criminal Justice System at the L.A. Law Library; a Town Hall Meeting about homeless, immigration and police brutality; a Pajamas Giveaway at Edelman Children’s Court co-sponsored with the Children’s Law Center and Hyundai Motor Company; Langston’s Membership Drive and Networking Mixer; Langston’s Law Student & Young Lawyers Networking Reception hosted by the law firm of Ivie, McNeill & Wyatt; Langston’s Entertainment Law Committee Speed Mentoring at Loyola Law School; and Law Day at the Torrance Courthouse. We were also happy to introduce the Brotherhood
Crusade Camp P.L.U.S. young ladies to the legal profession and the Langston Bar Association!
Outreach and Support
Langston was able to share in the accomplishments of our amazing law students by attending UCI Law School’s Inaugural BLSA Awards Dinner, the USC BLSA Alumni Banquet and supporting Southwestern Law School’s BLSA Banquet.
Langston was also able to attend and support the Thurgood Marshall Bar Association of Orange County’s Inaugural Installation & Awards Dinner, the Mexican American Bar Association Installation & Awards Gala, the South Asian Bar Association Public Interest and Installation Dinner and the Los Angeles Trial Lawyers’ Charities Casino Night.
