Courtney B. Taylor
Courtney is a 3L at UCLA School of Law. Guided by her family’s experiences with the criminal legal system, Courtney has spent much of her professional and academic endeavors learning more about the criminal legal system to become an advocate for families like hers and contribute to developing alternatives to incarceration. Most recently, Courtney externed at the Office of the Federal Public Defender, Central District of California, in the Trial and Noncapital Habeas Units and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Before law school, Courtney earned a Master of Public Policy from UCLA and studied the design and implementation of the Rapid Diversion Program in the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s Office for her thesis. Prior to returning to school, Courtney worked in government and nonprofits advancing civil rights, criminal legal reform, and improving government operations.
