Chizitere N.Nnadi
Southwestern Law School
My name is Chizitere Nnadi, I came to the United States at the age of 6 from Imo State, Nigeria. My aspiration to become a lawyer was solidified during Ms. Burin’s Second Grade classes “Bring your Parents to School Day.” One of the fathers who were able to come was a lawyer who attended Georgetown Law School. He spoke with such passion and conviction about the work he does and was an Immigrant like me. I saw myself in him, his ability to use his work to effectuate change not only here in the United States but also in his birth country of Guatemala touched my heart. From that day forward I knew I wanted to be a lawyer. Though I have struggled along the way I am proud that I was able to finish. I do all of this for my parents who left everything they knew back home to seek a better life for their children. I hope that each accomplishment that I attain helps them both find solace in their decision.
